Well then, as I previously mentioned, photography started for me 45 years ago, one Saturday lunchtime in my local pub.  One of my friends and a fellow apprentice colleague, had all these photos of Formula One cars, that he had taken at the British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch the previous weekend.  I thought his photos were fantastic. Just what I had seen in Autosport magazine. So sharp and really filled the frame. I bombarded him with questions, and decided there and then, that I wanted to be able to do that. Within a week I was the proud owner of an Olympus OM1 35mm SLR Camera, and a 'How To Do' book.  Well it didn't take long for me to realise that there's a lot more to photography, and you don't get the opportunity to take pictures of racing cars every day.  Photography then very soon became an obsession, taking all of my time and the lion's share of my apprentice's wages. I craved knowledge, and next came an evening class, followed by   starting a club with some of the guys on the course.

Fast forward to today, then.  My career was as a Mechanical Technician, building complex machinery to fine limits.  I never pursued a career in photography, and so it remained one of my hobbies, and I am content with that. I have always been of the opinion that when it becomes work it soon becomes a chore and for me the enjoyment diminishes.  This website is purely to share my wares, and to get me out there, so to speak. 

I have had some success over the years. I regularly enter my work in national exhibitions and regularly have my images accepted on the British Photographic Exhibitions circuit. I have reached BPE-2 and continue to edge towards my BPE-3.  I have recently had a couple of medals  awarded  for my work.

I am a member of The Royal Photographic Society, and have an Associated distinction (ARPS), and a CPAGB from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (Credit).  I aspire to the next levels in both and hope to achieve those in the not to distant future.

As far as my motorsport interests are concerned, I much prefer motorcycle racing these days. Bikes have a greater dynamism which I find missing with cars. I still enjoy a race trip, but now I find myself being drawn more  & more towards the creative side, in Photoshop, and flower imagery.  I still enjoy all genres of photography and enter my club competitions as well.

Most of my images are for sale, and printed nominally A3 (where crop permits),  and bevel mounted on ice white mounting board.
